Common questions

What is a ghost job?

A ghost job is a posting with no live, funded opening behind it. Employers run them to build talent pipelines, signal growth, or satisfy internal policy. Common tells in the wording: evergreen phrases like 'always accepting applications', an invitation to a 'talent pool', no named team or manager, and no start-date urgency anywhere in the text.

How does the decoder work?

It scans the wording of the posting against a set of documented patterns: compensation vagueness, evergreen pipeline language, undefined scope, culture euphemisms, urgency pressure, and commission-only schemes. It also checks what the posting fails to say, such as a salary range or a reporting line. Everything runs locally in your browser; the text never leaves your device.

Does a red flag mean I should not apply?

No. A flag is a question to resolve, not a verdict. A strong role at a company with lazy job-ad copy will trip a signal or two. The pattern to act on is accumulation: several strong signals plus missing basics usually means the posting is not what it appears to be.

Can it tell me whether the role fits me?

No. The decoder reads the posting; it knows nothing about you. Whether your experience, seniority, and evidence make you a credible candidate is a separate question. That is the fit assessment Rolevera runs against your real material, free for your first role.
